Microneedling is a break through treatment using a pen with 12 tiny needles that create microscopic channels in the skin encouraging the skin’s natural healing response as a remedy treatment of; wrinkles, pigmentation, scars and stretch marks.

Clinical studies have shown that micro needling produces channels in the dermis which sufficiently stimulate the body’s natural healing defence to repair and produce concentrated amounts of collagen type 3 and proteins to the treated areas of skin. As the healing continues the wound creates new dermal tissues, new blood vessels and the temporary type 3 collagen is replaced with a stronger type 1 collagen. This results in the skins thickness being increased by up to 80% smoothing scars, visibly reducing stretch marks and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Serums that are applied to the skin during and after are up to 1000 times more effective as the pores are opened and the product is absorbed deep into the skin, this helps break down pigmentation (depending on the serums used), deeply hydrate the skin and inject antioxidants into the skin to help fight free radical damage.

Micro-Needling has many names in the industry; collagen induction therapy (CIT), dermapen, Dermal Stamping and sometimes it is also mistaken for the Vampire Facial.

Micro-Needling is slightly different from Dermarollering as there is no risk of microscopic tearing unlike with a roller. The needles go in straight and come out straight. I prefer to use this method as it tends to be a lot less painful for the client and the integrity of the skin is also not compromised in any way.

Microneedling can be applied to many areas of the body it is a very diverse treatment that isn’t just limited to the facial area, it can used to rejuvenate the décolletage, neck, any area with stretch marks.
