Dermaplaning

Buff away the dead skin cells that build up to make complexions look dull and contribute to clogged pores! Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation, using an aesthetical grade, sterile blade which is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently “shave off” dead skin cells from the epidermis.

Dermaplaning clears away the build-up of dead skin cells so skin peels, facials and skin care products work better as this exfoliation treatment allows for greater penetration of skincare products, rather than the active ingredients sitting on the skin's surface being blocked by debris, oil and other contaminates like pollution.

Dermaplaning is a favourite in the entertainment industry, because it temporarily eliminates vellus hair (the fine peachy fuzz) that cakes up in makeup and can be enhanced by harsh production lighting and high-definition cameras. Due to the removal of hair on the face this treatment creates clear channels into the skin as well as a soft, smooth surface for a flawless makeup application.

This treatment can be an effective exfoliation method for clients that have more sensitive skin or allergies that prevent the use of microdermabrasion or chemical peels.

Frequently asked questions

Will may hair grow back thicker or darker?

Once your hair begins to grow back it might feel different because the hair was cut straight across, and no longer has a natural point to it but it's actually the same texture as before and grows at the same speed.

Will my skin be red after this treatment?

Some light redness can be expected but most people leave with just an amazing glow and no redness at all.

Will I need to wear SPF post treatment?

You should always wear sun protection every day without fail even if its cloudy, but post-exfoliation your skin is especially susceptible to the sun.

How long will results last?

Because of the skin and hair cycles being roughly 4 – 6 weeks you will be glowing for up to 4 weeks, however debris will start building up during this time, so it is recommended to have a dermaplanning facial every 4-6 weeks to keep that glow up.
